When it comes to keeping cool in the summer, pants might not be the first thing that springs to mind. But what else are you supposed to wear to the office? It seems as though all these fantastic fashion trends on offer might just mean pants are becoming obsolete in the summer.
Dawn of the power shorts
Oh, shorts. These were once the clothes that stayed hidden out of the view of anyone until we were on vacation and able to break out the pasty whites to catch some sun. However, it seems as though they are quickly becoming the latest fashion trend to take over 2018. They can now been worn as a casual silk pair that look great on any shopping trip or as a suit set that is right at home in the office. They are oh-so-versatile and oh-so on trend.
Getting floral with dresses
It seems as though floral dresses are back and bigger than ever for 2018. After all, would it really be summer at all without enough flower print clothing to make a florist jealous? We thought not. Floral dresses are everywhere this year, and with so many patterns and styles to choose from, it looks as though those pants could soon be obsolete this summer.
Pushing pencil… Skirts
There have been many fashion trends that have come and gone over the years, but 2018 finally marks the return of the pencil skirt. Nowadays, they come in a flattering long-lined style that is sure to finish off any outfit this summer. Plus, there are so many ways to wear a pencil skirt, there is no reason you shouldn’t have one in your wardrobe by now.
Polka dot madness
It’s not only floral that has taken over dresses; polka dots are another trend hitting summer 2018 for the days that you want to spice things up. Who knew there were so many ways to wear dresses all this time? Thankfully, there are so many styles that suit a polka dot it seems as if there is something for everyone. All without one sight of any pants. But can our legs really remain free and untamed all summer?
Bringing back pants
Although there are many great options that mean we don’t have to go near pants for the next few months, there are still several styles that can see us looking for a pair before the season is over. Plaid pants, trouser suits, and sportswear are all huge trends this year, and wouldn’t be complete without a pair of pants or two. So while it might seem as though pants are becoming obsolete in the summer, can you really imagine having to keep your legs shaved the entire season? We thought not.
As much as we love the idea of throwing on a dress or a pair of shorts before heading out the door, it seems as though we won’t be saying goodbye to pants anytime soon. In fact, they are fighting back the takeover and coming forward with trends of their very own. Don’t worry pants, we got ya back.
